Step 1: Open Microsoft Word Application.
Step 2: Go to the top of the window application and click the "Insert" tab.
Step 3: Go to the "Illustrations" group and click at the button "Shapes".
Step 4: After clicking the button "Shapes" there will be open a new window with some default shapes already created by the default of application, you can choose one of them by clicking over it and go with mouse at the page and click with the left button mouse and hold down until you choose the dimension of the shape you chooses.
And that is all... you just inserted a shape into page...
